About Edgar

Edgar Fernando is the founder of Kidprovise and co-founder of Hoopla Impro — London’s first improv theatre and the UK’s largest improv comedy school.

With years of experience performing, directing, and teaching improv, Edgar has worked with students, schools, drama academies, theatres, and corporate organisations, delivering creative workshops that inspire collaboration, confidence, and curiosity.

He brings his wealth of experience and passion for improv to young learners, guiding them in a safe, supportive, and playful environment.

Edgar’s teaching philosophy is simple: every child deserves the chance to be creative, take risks, and feel proud of their imagination.

In addition to children’s classes, Edgar also offers improv-based corporate training for professionals who work with young people — helping them become more effective communicators, storytellers, and team players.

Each class provides a fantastic introduction to improvisation — where imagination leads the way, and every idea counts.

History of Kidprovise

Kidprovise was founded in September 2024 by Edgar Fernando, who has spent his life teaching, performing, and directing improv shows. Alongside his creative career, Edgar also works as a lawyer for a city firm — a unique blend of skills that reflects his belief in structured play and creative thinking.

After settling in Manchester with his wife and two children, Edgar began to appreciate the deep value of family life — and the important role creativity plays in a child’s growth.

From this realisation, Kidprovise was born: a place where children can build confidence, kindness, and curiosity through the art of improvisation.

Edgar’s vision is to make improv accessible for all children aged 5 to 16, especially beginners, introducing them to a world where they can:
• 🌟 Be creative
• 🎭 Explore freely
• 🎈 Have fun
• 💬 Build confidence
• 🤝 Learn respect, kindness, and teamwork

At Kidprovise, children don’t just learn how to perform — they learn how to listen, support, and celebrate one another, building skills that last a lifetime.

Improv for kids. Creativity for life. 🌈
