What are the benefits for children?

Kidprovise provides for a fun and exciting journey to teach children about having fun through spontaneity, reacting to one another in the moment, and creating comedy, drama and theatre. This allows children to let their imagination run wild, try new experiences, make discoveries, express themselves, make room for “just being silly”, and enhances overall wellbeing.

You don’t have to be particularly clever or funny as long as the child can fill a generous role as a member of the team by listening to each other, supporting one another, and building on each other’s ideas to create whole new stories and scenes in the moment, they will experience fun adventures through their imagination.

Kidprovise presents children with the opportunity to develop their skills in a relaxed atmosphere and experience their creativity in a safe and positive environment. Kidprovise offers fun exercises, games, and activities which will focus on the key principles of improvisation.

Characters and friendships will be created, and each line of dialogue will be built upon by each contribution of each child, line by line to expand the scene. This will add to the action and behaviour, and reincorporate the information presented by all the children working together to tell the complete story. As mistakes occur, they will be resolved and therefore demonstrate the very best of the child’s creativity (as if they were supposed to be in the scene all a long). 

Children are supported to learn the techniques of storytelling, including development of characters, conveying emotions, status, platforms, justification and voice movement. Children are also encouraged to embrace the concept of letting go of the belief that you have to get somewhere really creative right away and, instead, embracing small steps.
